THE RISING

NEO SPIRIT PRO WRESTLING RETURNS TO NIAGARA FALLS.

Like the phoenix, a Niagara Falls based wrestling company will rise from its ashes and return to entertaining the town on Feb 19.
Neo Spirit Pro Wrestling (NSPW) closed its doors in 2006 due to financial problems, but the company’s owner, Jesse Scott, is optimistic for the big return show.
“I was young. I was at a weird spot in my life. The shows got away from me and I didn’t know how to run a business, but I have learned from my mistakes,” he says.
Scott, who wrestles as “The King of the Bling” Tiberious King, has been preparing for the show since late December and has had his venue and roster secured since then, including some old fan favourites.
“I want to make wrestling cool again. I want the fans to come in, pay for that ticket, and leave with a “wow” factor for all the things they saw here.”
NSPW veteran Carmen Scordino, who wrestles as one-half of the tag team The Italianos as Primo Scordino with his tag-team partner Tony “Stickball” Carbonie, will be on the show and is excited for the new start.
“We were the best company then, and we will prove that we are the best again. We gave a lot of guys and girls their start here and we can do that again too.”
Jeremy Elliott, who uses the ring name Nick Vickers, is also scheduled to be on the show.
“I am most excited because I was here at the start years ago, but I took a break from wrestling to hone my karate skills. Since then I have won two world championships in karate, and I am excited to come back to wrestling to show people what I have.”
NSPW’s show is titled The Rising and will be hosted at The NSPW dojo inside Fight Club Canada in Niagara Falls, Ont.
Tickets are $20 for reserved front row, $10 general admission and can be purchased in advance. Tickets are then $15 at the door.
Main ticket locations are Pulp Comics on 4413 Queen St. in Niagara Falls, as well as United Family Martial Arts on 6824 Thorold Stone Rd.
The ticket hotline number is 289-668-3250
Scheduled matches are: Nick Vickers versus Scotty Turner, Ashley Sixx versus Sebastian Suave, Michael Elgin versus Andrew Davis, and The Italianos versus Jake O’Reilly and Anthony Darko (The Piss Beaters). In tournament action fans will see Dangerboy Derek Wylde versus Pepper Parks and Cody Deaner versus Tiberious King. The winners of those two matches will then wrestle again later that night to decide the tournament winner.
NSPWs The Rising will be located at Fight Club Canada at 4536 Portage Rd Unit 2 in Niagara Falls on Feb. 19.
Doors open at 6:30 with matches starting at 7:30.
Card subject to change.
